Floating Behavior Technician

Job Description

The Floating Behavior Technician (FBT) works with a variety of clients across multiple settings. This may include work in schools, day cares, clinics, and client homes. The Floating Behavior Technician must be able to understand and accurately implement a variety of treatment and behavior plans as designed by Behavior Analysts. In addition, the FBT must collect data and complete documentation as required for all clients assigned on a day-to-day basis. The FBT must be able to establish a good rapport with various clients and professionals. The FBT must be flexible with their schedule and available to communicate with the scheduling coordinator and/or behavior analysts on a day-to-day basis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Be at least 19 years of age; have a high-school degree or equivalent, and two years supervised experience working with children with special health care needs, or

  • Have an Associate’s degree in human services (i.e., psychology, counseling, child development, education, nursing, etc.), or

  • Be currently enrolled in not less than six (6) semester hours of relevant undergraduate coursework at an accredited college or university

  • Demonstrate competency to work with children with special health care needs

  • At least 3 years of experience with individuals with developmental disabilities and the completion of agency training in child specific orientation, and

  • Have successfully passed a BCI and CANTs

  • Valid driver’s license and insured/registered vehicle

  • Must be flexible to work in a variety of work settings with any client

  • CPI/Safety-Care Trained – trainings provided by agency and recertifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human services field such as Psychology, Education/Special Education, Social Work, Health Studies, Child and Human Development, Nursing, etc.

  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in behavioral health with individuals with disabilities

  • Experience with behavior management and crisis prevention techniques
